Feed Your Adventure with Clif Bar

Tina and I were lucky enough to be invited to an amazing weekend in Whistler with our new friends at Clif Bar. The itinerary said skiing, yoga, hot tub, sauna and steam room, and we obviously couldn’t say no!

Picked up from home and taken directly to our basecamp, an incredible home near Alta Lake in Whistler, we were not sure what to expect. Once shown inside we were blown away by the Clif Bar teams thoughtfulness and attention to detail. Each guest with their own bathroom, a huge living room and kitchen, and a dining table big enough to easily seat all 12 invited guests plus all the Clif Bar and agency peeps. There was A LOT of us.

The tone for the weekend was set by a round of icebreakers that involved each of us sharing one of our favourite adventure moments. With shocking, funny, amazing and entertaining stories told, the sense of community and friendships were created. Everyone brought a unique perspective and personality and we were all stoked for what was to come.

Tina snowboards, and I ski, but it’s an activity we have never done together. Our day on the mountain was a ton of fun in the fresh powder at the top of Whistler mountain. Our groups were separated by skill level and each group was led by a guide. Our guides were also instructors, which was amazing for me, as I am still a beginner at the new shaped ski’s people ride these days (yes, I haven’t skied much these past years). We both only had a few spills which didn’t really matter since the snow was so soft.

Our weekend was action packed, but at the same time relaxing and inspiring. Our athlete host, Tamo Campos keep our bellies full of the best popcorn ever and our minds busy with some of the documentaries he has recently made. One of our favourite experiences came on our final evening in Whistler. We all had the privilege of attending Multiplicity, which can only be described as TedTalk’s for adventurers. We listened to so many crazy inspiring speakers and left the event feeling ready to rock.

We both feel very fortunate to have been invited to experience, we had such an amazing time and met so many great new friends. The kind folks at Clif Bar were nothing short of fantastic and we hope we have a chance to work with them again in the future.
